Anyone else notice a trend?
I know that the 04 vs previous MY has been talked to death...but...
as an outsider (not an owner...yet) I find the trend by previous MY owners to be interesting. Many are changing the final drive to get some quickness in the car, which for better or worse also lowers top speed.
What I find most interesting is the fact that it also prevents the car from reaching 60 mph in second gear any! Isn't this one of the knocks that pre 04 owners have had about the new car???
hmmmmmmmmmmmm...a little hypocrasy. Or just well disguised envy?
Just a thought.

I'm only going to comment about the gearing, because everyone buys a car for a different reason, and why some people don't like the MY04 is why others do, and vice versa. You can't control how people think or what they like.
Anyways, the gearing. I think it's a little dumb to make the shift point at 58mph or whatever it is. I mean if it would've been at 52 or whatever it would've made more sense, and you'd get more use of the next gear.
However, Honda may have tested the gearing in a different scenario where this gearing made more sense. Despite the gearing "shortfalls" in the 0-60, it's 1400m times aren't that bad.
The 4.57 gearset is looking enticing for my '04. Hmmm.

I can't believe anyone actually gives two hoots about the different models.
I love my 00.
If I had an 04 I'd love it too.
Any time you guys want to get a life is just fine with me.
Or as my GF says, "Build a bridge, get over it!".

I am also not looking to "criticize", I actually prefer the 9k.

Why the 4.57?
WOW, everyone sure gets bent out of shape even though they are "tired" of this type of topic and like BOTH models!
Personnally I don't think it has been discussed intelligently enough. This is why I have waited to purchase my car. I think that once the mods are all available for the 2.2 then the real debate shall be settled.
I just wanted to get everyones take on why the gearset mod seems to have become so popular and yet it is also popular to complain about the 2-3 shift to get to 60mph in the MT04.
