Anyone Ever Been Hit By "Airborne Radar" ??
Someone once told me that if you get nailed by airplane radar to tell the cop that you want to see the radar gun. My understanding is that you're entitled to see it since it is the evidence being used to convict you, and since they can't land the plane you'll usually get off if you ask to see the gun. I was told that they figure most people won't question it. Anyone know anything about this theory?
Yea, it does seem unconstitutional. There are no checks and balances in place to prove that they aren't making things up. They may not drop it if you ask to see the radar gun, but you could ask and go to court, bringing up that fact and it might be thrown out in court...but I suppose it depends on the judge.

I have never heard about radar from the air although that VA law seems to cover the possibility. For radar to be effective the gun has to be relatively straight ahead for a proper reading (doppler effect). The greater the angle (a plane or a helicopter it would seem to have at least a 30 degree angle) the less accurate it will be (will actually read a lower speed). Also, radar will normally pick up the largest moving target and picking up individual cars might be difficult from the air.

Only got written up for 95 though thank god!
