i rarely drive with the top up.

if you don't like the top, put it down. you don't have to take it off for a hard top. a big pita to remove it. hard tops are stolen too, might as well have the soft top under as a back up.

Me too. The s2k is my DD and I've had it two months. I can count the number of times I've gone top-down on one hand. I want an OEM hardtop bad and it will be on permanently once I get it.

I've pondered removing the softtop but I'm concerned about resale. As of now I love the car and have no intentions on selling it, but who knows what may happen two or three years down the road. I'd imagine an s2k with no softtop will be a tough sell, as being a convertible is pretty much the car's primary trait.

Im in TX too, and have a hard top with no soft top. Works fine for me. Take the top off on weekends and it only takes a couple of minutes to put the top on or off. I cant have the soft top as the roll bar I have prevents it.

I never drive with the top down, maybe 4 or 5 times in two years. I need a hardtop also, the car looks so much nicer i think the hardtop.

why would you want to remove it permantly? i mean, the ability to put it up at anytime in case of rain or your in bad area that you need to park - its such a stress reliever.

and though i stand fully supportive of the hardtop and i defiently want one in the future - i dont get why people go fo it immediately and just stick to the hardtop. isnt the whole reasoning behind buying the S - because its a convertible!?!??!

Same here; my S is my DD. I am saving up for a mugen hardtop. Lets see if there is a trend with DD rarely putting their top down.

Not necassarily. A lot of people buy it because of the performance it is capable of. It just happens to be available as a convertible only. I'm sure if it were offered in a coupe version, there would be many of them sold also.

I bought the car because I was in love with it's performance and looks, the convertible aspect wasn't the reason why I bought my s2000. I would have bought the coupe if it was offered that way.
