Anyone getting lousy gas mileage?
I've consistently gotten 16-18 mpg for pure city driving here in stop-go L.A. However, I get 27-29 mpg on the highways, even at sustained 80+ mph! (Top up, of course.) So you should expect a huge variance depending on how/where you drive.
Also, remember: the S2K is not a typical 2L econobox. The car a) is tuned for pure performance, including running rich in VTEC, b) has fairly poor aerodynamics, and c) has big, fat, sticky tires.

I'm a grandfather. I had two previous cars with "instaneous gas mileage" computers. I learned to coast up to red lights rather than use the brakes. Look ahead, and if you're going to have to follow traffic, don't charge up and brake, just adjust the speed early. If you're not needing quick acceleration, I find 4th gear fine for cruising in 30 mph zones, and 6th is fine for 40. But, I am also a fighter pilot (retired) and like to VTEC, and love the sound of the exhaust. It's a difficult balance, but with about 2200 miles on the car, I've averaged just about 28 mpg. It all depends on how you drive, and how many long stop lights (mentioned above) you have to wait through. Luckily, I don't have to spend too much time at traffic signals living in the middle of nowhere.
2,300 miles, average of 19.92 mpg. And that is typical suburban driving; some stop-and-go, some red lights, but no serious traffic jams. Best I ever got was 26 mpg, which was 90% highway driving.
