Default Anyone Installed A NAV System?

I'm considering a NAV system install. What system have you used? Is it better to install one or just use a hand-held (may need a navigator for hand-held) or dash-mount?

Some of us have gone with the Garmin Street Pilot III, which has the advantage of portability with all the most robust features of the best GPS systems. I've been using it in my S2000 and my other cars and take it with me on business (use it in rental cars), and I can tell you that it's outstanding. It fits into a carry bag about the size of a small camera bag.

C'mon shaner. . .don't YOU remember when you were a newbie with questions. . .the polite thing to do is complete a search and then post it for easy view!

It's easy for us who have been here awhile. . .posting and reading like crazy, but we need to be hospitable to the new folks as well!

BTW, thanks Rick. . .your Street Pilot looks awesome!!! I'll get to see it just in time for Christmas!

Thanks guys! Most informative. Sounds like portable systems are the way to go.
Any truth to the rumors that the '02's have a built-in system as an option?

Don't know about the US, but it has been an option in Japan since the S2000s inception.

Why does Japan, get all the cool stuff?

You'd think that there would be a bigger market for it in the US, but I could be mistaken...

Airgate,

I'm sorry I should be more outgoing to the newer members... but if I had posted a link to my thread, it would have seemed like self-glorification!

However, you only posted a link to Mike's NAV system! I guess that's what I get for being gruff with the newbies...

I shall modify my behavior immediately!

Now since I am a nicer owner, I will post my thread:
