I am in under protest as well. But you take what you can get and this is more than Miata, Porsche and BMW owners are getting.

OK, here's a draft of a letter to AHM.

RE: Honda S 2000 Model Years 2000, 2001 Rear Plastic Window

Torrance, CA 90509

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am an owner of a model year 200X Honda S 2000 automobile and am concerned about the longevity and safety issue of the rear plastic window installed in the convertible top in the 2000 and 2001 model years.

Specifically, my concerns are the following:

Routine operation of the power convertible top puts scratches on the inside and outside of the rear plastic window. There is no provision, as the car was designed from the factory, to prevent this.

When the convertible top is lowered and stored, the rear plastic window wrinkles due to way it folds. These wrinkles can be extremely difficult to completely remove.

The plastic interior releases gaseous hydrocarbons and deposits a film on the inside of the rear plastic window which is difficult to maintain and clean. This makes it cloudy and difficult to see through.

There is no electric defroster in the plastic rear window. Under certain conditions, condensation accumulates on the interior of the rear plastic window. The car

Yes, go for it... I like the written letter... cc: President of AHM, etc.

My plastic is in good shape after 2-1/2 years, but the Noodle is a PITA

Gowgom,

Great 1st draft. Please consider these mods, if you will..

The solution to address these problems is offered on the currently model year 2002 Honda S 2000: a rear glass window with an electric defroster at a negligible increase in MSRP. I understand Honda of Japan has recently completed a retrofit for prior model years. Does Honda have any plans for a Recall? If not, I would like American Honda Motor Co., Inc. to consider offering the retrofit at minimal cost to current model year 2000 and 2001 Honda S 2000 owners.

Also, it's very impt to get a NAME of the senior responsible CS person. Also: the CC: to the President/ AHM will get their attention and preclude the letter going into the "later" pile. It's worked for me to get action from the Philly area Blue Cross bureaucracy.

Do we have any names for AHM? I'll do a search later, but if anyone has this info on hand please post them.

I'd love it. I HATE how the plastic looks, and cleaning it is almost impossible (the inside anyway takes a contortionist to get it).

HOW MUCH????
