Makes the car look too tall, ESPECIALLY when the top is up (i.e. whenever the car is parked). If you take the windshield tape off, make sure you've got a front lip.

I had mine painted to (belinda) black instead. Sticky vinyl is pita to work with, especially when you have to slide each end underneath the weather strips. I just assume I would not get it right the first time no matter how careful I try, and will need at least 2 sets of tape, so...

I think I would just get it painted back black if I wanted it, but I don't believe I will ever want mine back on

IMO the black tape takes the eye away from the relatively upright windscreen of the S2000 and makes the car look sleeker. Different strokes for different folks though

I think Muz hit the nail on the head. I posted this on another thread... here it is again -- for side-by-side comparison of no tape vs with tape (photoshopped):

Without the tape, the car looks more like a miata.
It looks better with the tape on, matches the black interior perfectly.

I guess you just have to paint it black, putting the tape on is too much of a pain.

Recalling the way it was actually glued under the mouldings, Steve, I think you'd have trouble re-applying tape. I'm sorry you're unhappy with the look with the tape off; I do suspect the aesthetics are why Honda has continued to apply the tape.

I agree that white and yellow look quite different with the tape off vs. on. Oh, BTW, yellow with the yellow hardtop looks SUPER without the tape. On my Suzuka, I'm thrilled with the tape off. Much better look (personal opinion, of course).

s9000, I posted a thread several months ago in the wash/wax forum on windshield tape removal. You should be able to find it (and others) with a site search.

Best wishes!
