Default Anyone traded their '02 for an '05?

I really like the '04-'05 styling and extras (with the exception of the 8k RPM redline) which I guess I could live with.

Before anyone says I should keep my car, that's not the question I'm asking, I just was curious what it has costed '02 owners to move into an '05.

i would imagine you would get 20-21k at most for your trade.

so, 30k for the car means that moving up costs $10,000 plus interest.

Steven, your probably right.

I guess the best senario would be if I sold my car to a private party for about $22k-$23K (seems to be the going price when I check Autotrader), Carmax wants $24k for most of their '02s. Then I'd expect to pay around $30k for the '05. When you add in taxes on the new car now your talking about spending $10k to move up to the current model year.

Probably not worth it in my opinion. Maybe I'll just wait and see what Honda does for 2006.

Why would you want to downgrade like that?

I'm not going to touch that one, there are positives and negatives about each model year.

Well, we've got an 03 suzuka blue s2k over here that's retail @ 23,991 so you're trade is probably closer to 18.5-21K depending on the mileage, condition and mods. As far as the 05 is concerned we're selling them below 30k. (email for details) You do get a Tax benefit on trading it in and there's less hassle. The S2000's dont sell very well in Metro areas in Texas, so you'd get a better deal from the bigger cities.

the tax benefit is sales tax related, not federal, btw.
