Anything we can do to lighten up the S2000?
there is one really good thread on this topic already (and a couple other threads worth reading as well).
really good thread,
worth reading.
the conclusion is that you could probably cut 300 to 400 lbs without real negative effect on the car.
to quote from one of chris' posts in the thread:
"Assuming you could easily drop 400lbs, the power to weight ratio would go from 11.6 lbs/HP to 10 lbs/HP a 16% improvement across the board or the equivilent of 278HP peak."
and to quote from one of luis' posts in the thread:
"There is a general rule for this HP gain versus weight loss: If you are looking for handling and quick acceleration, go for the weight loss. "

!! I hope that Stook's owner can remember where everything goes.....You've gotta have some balls to do that to a car
After running the 1/4 mile, I also plan on doing some weight reduction also.
Here's what i am planning on getting:
-16" Regamaster rim (same as Spoon, but in gunmetal)- 11lbs
-Amuse Ti exhaust - 8lbs
-Mugen or Amuse (if it comes out) header - not sure, but my Mugen header on the 5th gen Prelude was much lighter then the stock header
