Default Lightweight S2000

Staying with boltons, and keeping the car liveable, (ie leave ac and radio alone) how light do you think we can make our s2ks? Im guessing around 2600 lbs dry weight.

My math:
cf hood -5 lbs
cf trunk -30 lbs (this number has no basis. Im just guessing here)
lightweight seats -60 lbs (30 each)
ti exhaust -45 lbs
lightweight rims -20 lbs (5 lbs each)

what do you think?

I have a best motoring video where they have an amuse S2000 that has dropped over 200 lbs and fixed up the engine. That was a ridiculously fast S2000. Your seat and exhaust subtractions sound a bit high though.

i wouldnt go w/ a cf hood just for 5 pounds. id rather diet and lose 5 pounds then fork over $1000 for a new hood just to save weight. just my opinion though.

5lb rims? or do you mean losing 5lbs off the rims.

Don't forget the suspension. An aluminum bodied suspension will net you a 30-40lbs loss, and it's the best place to loose weight!

And don't forget YOUR spare tire, if you have one.

You can find wheels that weigh 9-10 lbs less than stock, per wheel (mugen, volk). Ti header as well will loose some weight.

Do a search, there have been a lot of threads about just this subject. Someone in the UK totally stripped an S2k for racing.

Drain the windshield washer fluid, never keep more than 1/2 tank gas in it, take out the carpet, airbags, the stereo and the A/C. . .

These mods will cost you all of zero dollars until you try to sell the car...
