Default AP1 Cup Holder

for those of us with ap1's, anyone else annoyed by the sensitive cup holder opening during drives? seems like its placed to close to the shifter that I hit it with my elbow a lot during drives. is there any way I can adjust the cup holder lid to be less sensitive?

Hmmm, I don't know about adjusting the sensitivity of the click opening. I wrote up a DIY in the libraries on how to fix the cup holder if it wont click close. You could follow that and see if fiddling with that internal latch will make it better. Maybe if you replace the spring or tighten the screw on the latch?

I always find myself hitting the hazard lights button on accident with my wrist!

now that I think about it, the problem is more of the cup holder not wanting to click close after its open. hate the search on here, anyway you could direct me to that link. TIA

Maybe your cup holder is trying to tell you something........

The center console snaps loose in ten seconds without tools. Just start prying up from the area furthest back.

It's possible that you're hitting it just right with your wrist or arm to pop it open and there's nothing wrong with it. You might consider just removing the lid. But keep the parts in case you want to reinstall it.

Pulling the center console takes 30 seconds. Just twist off shift knob, pull center console up(just clicks in) and unplug the 2 buttons underneath and pull it off. Couple screws then hold the cup holder in. Can check the clasp mechanism then and see if it is busted.
