[QUOTE=negcamber,May 3 2007, 04:14 PM]LOL...no, I don't think of the AP2 as a normal car.

But many view the AP2 as a performance improvement over the AP1...and I disagree.

it's a driver's race...

There are differences but not ones that cannot be overcome.

But many view the AP2 as a performance improvement over the AP1...and I disagree. Many AP2 owners think that it is quicker...and it's not (although the torque and gearing changes make it feel that way...but we see that 1/4 mile times are pretty much identical). Many AP2 owners feel their cars handle better...and in their hands they probably do, but the max potential of the AP2 did not supercede the AP1 in the hands of a great driver.

So when the AP2 fanbois come out...I just like to bring another perspective so they can fit their heads in the car when the top is closed.
Didn't you guys watch the JDM video and stuff. It is faster.

AP2 is AP2 even the First AP2 is 9K, hahha
Faster is faster.

0-60 mph and 1/4 mi is all about timing when the green light turn on and how quickly you react to it. that Just a basic measurement.

But in a short circuit race you see that Ap2 wins.

Kerosene lanterns; and you have to use your hands for turn signals...

j/k. Yes all S2000's have HID's' even the "vintage" ones.

It's AutoX, not a racetrack.

of course you also have to figure in that there are ALOT more ap1s than ap2s.

That also means more seat time and more track records for ap1s.

additionally. where those cars @ autoX stock (with oem tires) or modifed?

Not everyone wants to take their new ap2 and go trash it on the 1/4 or autox. Maybe now that ap2s have some years on them we'll see some more track records surface.
