What I like about the F40 because it a V12 2.0 Liter engine, while the F50 is the 6.0 V12 engine.

The F40 is the true F1 car on the street. That why I love it. Small engine that put out a lot of power.
In addition to the remark above, the F50 had a 4.7L V12. You need better sources...

We can argue all day (which we have ) about which s2000 is better. But I don't think any of us are good enough drivers to objectively comment on which one is actually faster.

We all have different driving styles and different needs. Which s2k is better for YOU?

[QUOTE=negcamber,May 3 2007, 05:58 AM]The difference is that the F2007 modifications were based on input from the best drivers in the world wanting to increase the total potential of the car.

The AP2 modifications were based on input from average drivers.

By the same analogy...if you incorporate input from only Buick LeSaber drivers on how to "improve" the S2000, then you end up with a car that is much softer, ie more like a Buick...which I think we can all agree does not increase total potential of the car.

so, for you to say if they only accepted input from "Jason Saini and Ian Stewart" as opposed to the average driver is BS. they are the minority of S2K sales not majority and that goes for you and me as well. if we were to take a poll of S owners to ask how many attended solo2 or track day events with their S or previous cars i bet the number would be less than 10%.
And you prove my point...the changes made to the AP2 were made in response to the needs of average drivers...maybe to improve sales but not necessarily performance. Which is why most of us are faster with an AP2. But the very best seem to get more out of the AP1.

Bottom line, only us AP1 owners have the honor of wearing this shirt.

Even if AP2 MIGHT be a tad faster, both AP1 and AP2 are way slower than a Ferrari, but 9k is clearly more exotic than only 8,000 rpms.
WHERE CAN I GET THIS
sorry if this seems liek a n00b question, i haven't been on s2ki for like 10 months due to temporary car change to 06 Si

omg! you make it seem the AP2 is nothing but a two door rwd ridgeline or they added an extra 500lbs and two extra doors. its still has enough sport for people like yourself that think that the AP1 was a car that ayrton senna designed and engineered as his perfect road car and the key word is "road" not "track".

your avatar makes it seem that you drive your S 24/7 that way dodging cones when it reality 98% of it is keeping a distance from semis and full size suv at 80mph on the way to work.

LOL...no, I don't think of the AP2 as a normal car.

But many view the AP2 as a performance improvement over the AP1...and I disagree. Many AP2 owners think that it is quicker...and it's not (although the torque and gearing changes make it feel that way...but we see that 1/4 mile times are pretty much identical). Many AP2 owners feel their cars handle better...and in their hands they probably do, but the max potential of the AP2 did not supercede the AP1 in the hands of a great driver.

So when the AP2 fanbois come out...I just like to bring another perspective so they can fit their heads in the car when the top is closed.
