In other words Ap1 vs. AP2

After you watched this all the AP1 should bow down to the AP2 because YOU AP1 ARE SLOWER!!!! THAN US AP2!!!!! Especially in the corner!!! hahahahahahhaha

Yes Stock Ap2 the best!!! also beat the tuned S2K and the STock Ap1. hahahha

watch and learn

AND ACCEPT!!!!!! THE TRUTH!!!!! KAKAKAA

Wait until you've been here as long as I have. Then you'll REALLY be tired of hearing all the same quesions over and over again. Best bet is to get use to it and just try to respond to the questions nicely.
It's attitudes like this that demand the most respect in any forum. On the other hand, constantly shooting off short, impatient responses like "READ THE FAQ!" or "TRY SEARCHING NEXT TIME!" doesn't help anyone and certainly doesn't say much for one's character or credibility. Thanks RED

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, RED MX5 has the right answer. As far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile times go, there's not appreciable difference. Better handling generally goes in favor of AP2, with an even better advantage to the newer MY's ('06 and up) which are equipt with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). Another common selling point is the rear glass window in the MY02 and above, although that has nothing to do with your original concern

Personally, I'm biased towards the AP1 for all the same reasons that have been voiced thousands of times by other AP1 fans. The only real advice I can give, is to try test diving both and judge for yourself. If you still don't have a favor, go with the newest year you can afford.

nice video, i drove a 2002 and a 2003 car and then bought the 2004 car with the changes without driving it...i just wanted it with the proposed changes as advertised and have not looked back. i think a test drive is in order, neither one is better, they differ some and it is a matter of personal taste and a few $$.

I thought that meant they had a stronger urine stream...

In this link you can read what changed in each year of production, as well as a whole bunch of great threads for S2k newbies.
