I do hope you realize at the time he was asked the question, the JDM had the F22c for a while. Only markets left with F20c are EDM and Australia/New Zealand. Even they have the update body/suspension style. Mind you, they are still called AP1s, which I don't quite understand because I always thought that AP# was the chassis code.

the guys has nothing to gain with his comments since he no longer works for honda, he officially retired september 1st. he could've said he preffered the AP1 but he didn't, its not like honda was going to dock next months paycheck if he didn't say AP2.

my post will be infamous for the wrong reasons as the favorite kid story. i should've just kept what he said to myself because there's seems to be more than a few AP1 owners that took the story as a slap. maybe i should've asked him which he preffered the NSX or S2K instead.

for four days i thought what made him smile was the "for sale" sign on the red S, but it wasn't until i saw the actual sign today that i knew what truly made him smile.

I never thought I'd see it, but the AP1 vs AP2 debate could actually be a bigger waste of time than the beaten-to-death VW argument of 1.8T vs VR6.

As long as you have the s2k vintage you prefer, why care about what anyone else prefers? I don't.

what will be weird in a couple of months or a years time when someone new to the site post the AP1 vs AP2 question-debate whatever you want to call it. some AP2 owner will use the search button and use this thread as the atomic bomb post killer to any AP1 defender.

shoot, dad likes the AP2 so it must be the better S2000.

That's the problem with this kind of thread. None of the arguments one way or the other actually have any merit, because no matter which side it comes from, the information is always incomplete and often incorrect. Fact is, the MY02 cars had more power and torque than the MY00 cars, and at one time people here debated that like it was a make or break difference. People who think the F22C is some kind of major performance improvement are fooling themselves, and people who think the 9k redline and Nurburgring tuned suspension mean that their car is in some way superior are doing exactly the same thing. Take any AP1, and any AP2, and any two drivers selected at random from the S2kI membership. Have them race in any venue. Odds are, the same driver will win, no matter what venue is selected or which car he's driving. If you want the same S2000 to win every time you'd better put FI and something like Pilot Sport Cups on one of them. Then it will beat the stock car more often than not, no matter what the venue or who the two randomly selected drivers might be.

Neither car has enough to keep me satisfied for long, and there are many others here who have found the same to be true for them. These guys bicker about a few horses and a few ft.lbs. of torque, and some minor handling changes, like they make a huge difference, when in fact the difference is TINY. It's like arguing about an eighth of an inch in the length of your penus, in the presence of someone like John Holmes.

Sadly, some of the crazy AP2 guys will be on this like it came down from the heavens, without considering the source, and some of the AP1 guys will respond. Then the AP2 dickheads will try to tell the AP1 dickheads that they are over reacting, and the stupidity will spiral.

I no longer even try to correct the misinformation posted in the AP1/AP2 threads, because these guys don't even care that they're only telling half the story and getting most of that wrong.
