Am I missing something here? I just bought a 2007 S2000 and both my keys are fat and grey.

The door locks fit differantly in the door handles. I had to dremmel it to get them to fit. It was very minor. If you wanted to, you could by the AP2 handles.

I have a JDM key without a chip that was cut to my ignition. I know the ignition cylinder is very sesitive to positioning because even with the chipped key held against the iginition cylinder using a non chipped key wouldn't start the car.

I'd like to know if there is an additional pickup somewhere under the dash where I could create some sort of proximity device so I get in the car, throw half my keys in the cup holder or something, then put a non-chipped key in the ignition.

If anyone has direction on this, please let me know.

Yea, I was surprised at how plain looking the key was for a $35k car. But at least we dont have to spend as much for an AP1 key than the Ap2. Or at least I assume it won't be as much because it is alot simpler to cut.

I didnt know keys were such a hot ticket. I dont look at it when I drive or when its in my pocket when I'm not driving. Sucks about the color rubbing off so easily...

I have that key but it is unprogrammable, apparently does not have a chip.

It's cut to my ignition, was taken to Honda and I paid to have it programmed but their programming system could not get it to work.

So now I have the most expensive door key around, $60 for the key, plus $90 for the cutting and programming. $150 for a back up door, trunk, and console key.
