Default AP2 OEM exhausts

Is there a fundamental difference between these two exhausts?

I mounted a 06 OEM exhaust on my 05 s2000. Will this affect performance in anyway?

Why would it? Maybe a bend or two difference otherwise probably the same.

I think the 06 exhaust gains about 10 HP over the other years.

actually, the 06 exhaust is different. there is a thing called the 'wenie', or something like that. its right after the cat, its the little cylinder thing that branches off of the exhaust. well, on all 05 and below, its a perfect cylinder shape. but on the 06+ its an oval shape. not sure what this difference does though.

likely just a change in sound to eliminate some resonance at cruising speeds or something...

Did it mount without any modification? Because some of the aftermarket AP2 exhausts need slight modification to install on a 06. I think one of the hangers needs to be relocated.

yeah it mounted fine, weird. i had to really pull the exhaust towards the cat tho but other than that, it was okay.
