Arghh!!!!!
After 49 hours with my S2K, I had to have it towed to the dealership. Yup, towed. I parked the car to go in to blockbuster, and 10 minutes later, she refused to start! Heck, she even refused to turn over... Battery was fine, indicators were good, but a push of the se button simply produced a click from under the dash. My guess is that it's the ignition lock from that dumb-assed aftermarket alarms the dealer installed (wtf has heard of KARR anyway?)
Long and short of it is, I'm going INSANE!!! I NEED MY CAR!!! I can't tell you how many times I reached for my keys to go out for a little pleasure cruise, only to be heartbroken as I remembered my tale of woe... On the bright side, at least I was just out with the boys, and not on a date!

Good call, but yeah - i did. I even pushed in the brake in case I just "hadn't noticed" that it was required. I also disabled/valet'd the alarm system, re-armed and disarmed it, checked the alarm wiring harness for fit, and triple checked the battery and it's connections... I also tried my spare key in case the cutoff thingy in my key got hosed... No joy.
Most likely its the aftermarket alarm. Other random issues have occurred with inexperienced installations of aftermarket alarms. Dealership or not, its most likely the case. But that's just my opinion.
I have a feeling it's a blown fuse or something, probably the plug for the start button was not put back properly but that would not be possible to produce a click type of sound. That's usually the absence of a fuse or likely blown, then again I'm just speculating ... It could be anything.

I feel for you, it must be hard with a new car and all...
An alarm was included with my car as well and the dealer tried to install the KARR alarm. They actually did it, but it worked like crap so I had them take it out and put the factory one in (which is what they should have done in the first place). Good luck on getting yours fixed.
You wouldn't lose much with the factory alarm so you might try to get them to switch for you (under warranty) if you keep having problems. Good luck!
