ATTN: Pinky (again)
What do you think of Focal? I am interested in the 165k3 model because it seems to be one of the few component systems (3 speakers) that can handle 100-200 watts.
And can you buy Focal products?
Also, I have an amp that pushes 225 x 2 at RMS. Are there any 2 way components out there that would work better?
I'm sorry to beat this to death, I just want to make sure I do it right!
Thanks again,
Larry

Focal makes, or made at one time, some very very high end home audio speakers. They are far from crap, although I know very little about their automotive exploits. I would place them with the likes of Wilson Audio, B&W and so on.

UPDATE:
Here is focal's website: http://www.focal-america.com
The model I WAS looking at was quoted to me a dealer from KY (closest I could find) for $945.00!
So, Pinky (or anyone), what are the BEST seperates (2 or 3 way) for under $500.00?
Thanks again and again and again,
Larry

I looked at Focal when I was picking my seperates. They got great reviews and are considered to be some of the best auto components available. I also heard that they were very sensitive and didn't sound so great when coupled to anything other than top quality amps and signal sources.
I ended up going with the ADS components, mostly because I got a great deal on them and really didn't want to spend $2K+ on a sound system for a roadster.
I purchased my ADS stuff through [url]www.carmedia1.com[/url} for great prices.

bbsilver,
That picture was taken in January of this year. My S was parked in the garage in the background 10 min. later for two weeks!!
saliv8,
I would look at the Diamond audio sperates, a/d/s, MB Quart, Polk MM series, KEF, and I hear that the Infinity Kapa Perfect seperates are pretty good this year.
There are several to choose from. I would find as many different shops around as I could and just listen to them. Choose the ones that you like best on your type of music, with a system as similar to yours as possible. They will sound a little different when you install them, but not dramatically.
Hope this helps.
