Audio Upgrades
Idk if this is the correct part of the forum for this post, but I am curious as to what brand name of speakers/amps people have used in their s2000 when upgrading the interior speakers?
I am looking for a clear crisp sound while listening to a variety of musical styles ranging from heavy metal to hip hop.
I already have two 12" performance audio kickers that i will be installing in the trunk with a 750 watt amp to power those. Also i have an after market head unit (JVC??) in the $300 price range which hopefully will provide enough options, especially when it comes to the equalizer. because where i will if i absolutely have to, id rather not spring for an external equalizer.
I plan on putting one speaker in each head rest and removing the stock speakers from the doors and adding an additional speaker in each door for a total of 6 interior speakers and 2 woofers. would you guys recommend tweeters in the doors?
any advice or insight is greatly appriciated guys.
thanks for your time,
Zach

how much do you want to spend?
alpine makes good head units at a range of prices. for speakers, i'd try to get a high end set of components--mb quart has always made some very nice sets.
whatever you do, get your amp power goal first then select speakers that best suit the power goal. on low power, many cheap speakers will sound better than more expensive, higher power-rated speakers because of the difference in sensitivity.
i'd just get a more powerful amp rather than go from 2-->4 speakers in the front, unless you're talking 2 tweeters (L/R) and 2 mid-bass speakers (L/R)--that makes sense.
and again, go to the electronics section and ask--they'll need more input but are probably more current on what's on the market.
