FYI,I have a Richard Paul's Axialflow Short shifter,and I simply it;the best mod,I ever did to my S2K,period.
Shorter,more precise throws,a more mechanical feel,like a race car,and not A SINGLE VIBRATION,or noise,at ANY speed.
And better self centereing action, nearly impossible to hit second gear, when downshifting from fifth or sixth.

I have it and love it also...I have a minor whir which is easily drowned out by my POS radio at low volume. Hell, the clutch decel is way more annoying than this.

I wanted to get one of these as well, but with all the problems with them, I have held off. If CT is making one, I may wait until theirs comes out, but I am sure it will cost much more than Rick's since it is from CT.

I got one last week from ricks. It came with a boot to reduce the noise, although I had no idea wat it was when it came in the box. So mine is installled without the boot for now. The buzzing noise is moderately noticeable with the top up and no music on. If the top is down, or the music is over 1/3 up, I cannot hear the buzzing noise.

The shifter overal works as advertised. It was stiff as hell at first, but now moves around nicely and YES you can tell exactly which gear you are in, each feels differently.

My kit came with a solid ring that was at the base of the shifter that was the 3 10mm bolts go through it. In the install pics, this ring has an indentation. Mine did not. I wonder if this ha anything to do with the buzzing.
