Smile Annoying vibration from shifter

I have had the AxialFlow short shifter for about 2 months now. Ever since I bought and installed it, there has been an annoying vibration noise coming from the shifter. The noise gets louder as I accelerate. I have done the following troubleshooting:

1. Ensured the lock nut was tight (ended up removing it and the noise went down some).
2. Wrapped the top of the shifter (where the threads are) with plumbers tape in an attempt to insulate it.

I am getting to my wits end here and am about to go back to the stock shifter. Any suggestions?

arent't you supposed to get some supplemental pieces from Rick's to solve this issue? The first ones made didn't get this initially sent out, they are sending them out as they recieve parts.

It's solid steel, and vibrates like hell. If anybody knew how that shifter was designed, they would not buy one.

It's not even a true short throw (higher fulcrum point) shifter like the C's. It's nothing but a shorter shifter on top and it's solid. You could have one made for 40 bucks.

I tried it for a few hours before reinstalling the stock shifter.

They are working on damping but it probably will not be able to make it a quiet piece.

Have you actually measured one? Mine appeared to have increased throw as well as shortened shaft.

You can see the pins lined up here and the reach on the RP is greater (higher fulcrum point.)

I really don't think there is a noticable difference in the throw with the AxialFlow shifter. The stock shifter already has a fairly short throw.

I am back to my OEM shifter. There is absolutely no vibration/noise. I am very happy. Also, I don't think there is much, if any, difference in the throw. I think because the OEM shifter is "taller" it makes it seem as if the throw is longer, but that is about it.
