Default Baby seat?

Hey guys, about to be a daddy come january (09). Just curious what requirements would I have to meet to safely commute with my newborn? Thinking about selling the CTSC to buy bride seats (driver side with takata harness) with a custom bride baby seat. Im done going fast for a little while so... Thanks guys for your input!!

Matt,

First let me tell you that you will get flamed here for trying to take a baby in this car.

My advice is to be very carefull with the Bride seats, I have Stradias and they make it a bitch to install any baby seats. I have a Recaro young sport and it will just not fit with the Brides.

On the other hand it fits fine on the stock seat. I have never taken my son with a rear facing seat even though my car has the passenger airbag that deactivates once it senses the childseat, but I know a MaxiCosi fits no problem ...

Let me know any info on that custom Bride baby seat, how to get it and such. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it fits in the Stradias.

Yea man im not worried about getting flamed... By no means would I drive like a maniac with my child in the car. Right now just need to figure if im even allowed to have a baby seat in my car. It is my daily driver, so just in case I was in a situation where I had to have the baby in my car. This is new for me, so i figured see if i can mix in a little style. I do like the look of this if i can find where to buy one. JDM Land i suspect? Just get some bride fabric and have it completly re-done

no, the airbag is the problem. the airbag can easily kill a baby/toddler. you need to get an airbag switch, which is a pita of a project.

I guess you could remove the airbag to be safe but then your adult passengers wouldn't have the benefit of an airbag.

yea i knew that, Do the AP2s have the automatic airbag shutoff?... But its all up in the air for now, i got 9 months to figure it out. Hoping to keep the S. But if it boils down to it all, ill trade it in to get the SC Element. Throw some Work wheels on it and roll... but back on topic, other than the airbag are there any requirements i should know about?

I think I remember seeing in the manual that it is not recommended to have a baby seat but it is possible if you absolutely have to

Not all AP2s; only 2006+ have automatic airbag shutoff.

I believe you need a rear facing baby seat for when they are newborn.
