the difficult part about it is that to do it legally you have to get Honda's permission to do it

I got my switch from Sensible Solutions I believe. In any event, I simply filled out the form and got authorization from the NHTSA. I don't know even remember if I needed that to order the switch, or that was only required if you were going to have someone install it?

yeah i agree, disable the airbag first, have you thought about getting a cheaper "family" car, then you can still keep the s, but some nice baby seats would be a cool touch to new father's car =)
Sell the s2000 and get the proper vehicle for an infant hauler. There will be plenty of time down the road to pick up another s2000. To me it wouldn't even be worth the risk.

Granted it's not the best vehicle for it, but it's also not the best time to be a car seller.
Do what you gotta do.
Do what you gotta do.
When is a good time to be a car seller? When do most cars appreciate in value? We're not talking about a house here. It's as good as time as any, he actually has a need for something different. If that's not the best time to get rid of a car when is? Not like he actually has to sell either, he can use the car as a trade in for a proper vehicle. Are you telling me dealers aren't looking to sell and all those low financing deals I see are my imagination?

Either way, I agree with a couple of voices here - just get another car, do the best you can for your child's safety, always.
