I also sold my 02 M3 to get a 04 S. Both cars are fun to drive.
The raw speed in the M3 is very nice but the S2000 is a great canyon carver.

Having the top down in Southern California is another big plus.

I must agree. My good friend has an '02 M3 and he let me drive it. I thought the power was great and so was the handling and braking. But, the S just seems more pure. The M3 looks like a nice sedan on roids. The S looks like a serious sports car. Basically I would buy an M3 if I was a richy dude wanting that BMW logo, otherwise the S is more my style.
