Default Back Brakes Rubbing

Fellas,

My rear brake pads seem to be rubbing against the rotors as I drive. The hand brake is not activated. Any suggestions as to unsticking them??

Thanks

The car was parked for about a month with the hand brake up though which I know is not advised. OOPS

Go fast them slam the brakes a few times? Go fast and hold the e- brake button while only using the e- brake to stop fast a few times, not your foot? Try that.

You sure you have the right rims on?
If you have the front rims mounted on the back, that's exactly what you will get.
I know coz it happened to me.

you didn't install them right. you need to make sure the pin on the bad is in the center of the cross on the piston.

I was under the impression that he didn't do anything to the brakes, just had the car sitting for a month.

Exactly!! The car was sitting for a month with the hand brake engaged. I pulled the car around my house to wash it and then drove it around the block but the rear pads are pressed against the rotors and rub as I drive.

The wheels are properly installed.

To confirm that the rear brakes are really dragging as you drive, try jacking up the rear wheels and turn the wheels by hand. Listen if the rear pads if they're the real culprit. If so, you can either do a parking brake adjustment or check if your caliper pins are stuck. I think your problem is with the caliper pins. Take out the caliper pins and clean them throughly. After cleaning, lube them up and put it back together. That should solve your problem. HTH. Goodluck.

Keep the parking brake off for the time being also, maybe the cable is seized somewhere and it might just pop loose again.
