I experienced understeer untill I had my alignment done.....the alignment from the factory was CRAP....it was way out of factory specs....The MY04 is like the MY00-03 you should really have the alignment done.

It's possible that a really bad alignment could make this car oversteer. Compared to my last car the MY04 is hard to break the back end loose, and locks down very quickly once you do.
Do you have your factory alignment specs that the shop found? I in fact DID get an alignment done and saw some improvement, but not enough. I posted the specs on the temp s2ki, I'll repost them now that the main site is back up.

Took me a while to find it but I found my old post about MY04 specs....in it is the alignment I got from the factory. Almost all are out of spec.....

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=209318

Right now I'm running an agressive alignment and I've been happy with it so far...my cars alignment isn't in stock specs now but handles better and does not appear to have increased tire wear significantly. The car feels like it has the 'right' about of looseness to the rear now....

How aggressive is your new alignment? I simply went with the UK specs.
I'm actually running

Front
-1.5 camber
0 toe

Rear

-2.2 camber
1/8 total toe

-2.2 is max for me at stock height....if I end up dropping I may push it out to -2.5

I find my 01 with pretty bald tires is hard to kick out.

Then again my last car was a 300hp MR2 turbo, so it may have something to do with that.

Dude...this is your second car. I had about 12 cars before I got my S. I think you should enjoy your car for what it is for now. After all, your car is brand new. I recomend putting at least another 5-10k miles on it before you mod it. I would get the alignment checked as soon as possible.

Even if yer loaded with money, I would still drive it for at least 6 more months before you start modding it.

Have fun and be safe

It depends what your goal is for the car. If you're into the bling bling then by all means modify the hell out of the car. However, if your skill set isn't even up to driving the stock car near it's limits what good is improving on those limits going to do you? The money could be better spent on auto-cross, track time, and/or a driving school to help you handle what you already have. You have to realize that from the factory this is an exceptional handling car. There's no need to modify it until you're capable of handling what it already has unless, of course, you're into the bling bling.....

So so true grasshopper

keep on driving and enjoying your S. Refine your skills and street survival techniques. Your relatively young and your car is still new. you will become a safer and better driver if you master what you have now. If you think you have a hard time pushing toward your cars limits now, if you improve the overall handling characteristics including more grip, it will be a lot harder to find the limit and become a safer and more precise driver.
