back trunk inner side has a cut

If you close that vent the trunk will not close easily. It's like closing both car doors at the same time. Unless you slam it one will not fully latch.

I'd leave the vent alone.

So I got the part from the dealership and somehow it couldn't fit in the trunk vent. Do i need to take out the bumper and put that vent in? please advised. Thanks in advance
