afwfjusting... I'm not sure I'm getting the difference you speak of. How is ducking into a neighborhood and hiding in the open garage of someone you don't know not running from the cops? If caught, you would've had more than just a speeding citation.
If the cops are far enough away that you can get away and still convince him that you didn't realize there was a cop chasing you, it's not running. If he's obviously behind you and you try to run: 1) you're obviously running from him and he knows this 2) you're not going to get away. The cop (in my case) was a 1/4 mile away and I can argue that I didn't know he was coming after me. There could have been 10 cars between us, so how was I supposed to know he was targeting me? Like I said, if it's obvious to the cop that you are running from him, then it's time to pull over. In my case it wasn't.
