Ya the dealer is doing all that with first the compression test and then they are going to go on from that. My check engine light never came on though. So say Acura tells me i have bent vavles and all that should i just take my head to Alaniz tech to have it fixed, or should i just stay with acura?

I don't know how much Joe charges for a teardown, just give him a call and compare prices. I would think a reputable private shop (such as Joe's) would be cheaper than the dealer. Once the head is remove though, I would get that fixed at Joe's, and then back to the other shop to re-install. You gotta call around and shop for prices.

I owe $760 for labor to take the head apart and do the compression tests and all that to see what needs to be replaced.

Pay the $760, tow the car to your house, get the head fixed by a reputable machine shop (preferably Alaniz), and install the head either yourself, or by a private shop. Dealers will rip you off. Where in SoCal are you? Maybe I can come do the install for you (for a minimal charge of course).

I would suggest that before you do what Yogi says, you at least get to hear what Honda says, since youre paying for it. Use the information they provide you to find a price somewhere else if you like.

I'm just throwing an option out there. See how much you can get Honda to do for you, but it probably won't be much. Get as much free info out of them as you can before walking away.
