Was this bad for my clutch?

This is like buying a steak dinner at a fancy restraunt JUST so you can have some au jus on your mashed potatoes.
Someone else seems to agree with me here!
It's not that I disagree with you. I just thought your presentation was a bit harsh.
Maybe it is more a matter of what I read rather than what you wrote.
I personnally am not a thrasher and basher but I do like to wind the bitch out regularly and I do like to carve up the curves.

That is like taking a woman out to dinner and NOT
Drive the car however you want to. Some days I don't go over 5k but most days at least once or twice I redline it. It's a 9k car, going to 9k aint going to kill it. Although going to 9k in 5th may cause you a couple of problems, firstly with the speed around bends, secondly with finding an excuse to the Police when they catch you.

The thing is though, its stupid.

That's a bit pretentious. Not everyone has the same priorities that you do. Not everyone has the same needs or desires that you do.
Here's another way to look at it:
Sometimes you pay for features that you never intend to use. Every car today comes with dual airbags, but I have no intention of ever using them. But it's nice to know that it's there if I need it.
Some people would say the same thing about the extra power/torque above 6K RPMs on the S2000. They may have no need or desire to ever use it, but it's there if they need it.
By you're reasoning, you made a poor economic decision by buying the S2000, because it comes equipped with features that you never intend to use (e.g., the airbags, roll bar, etc).
I'd argue that you bought the S2000 for <insert your reasons here> and the airbags were just a bonus. In the same regards, SilverKnight bought the car for <insert his personal reasons here>, and the high-strung, moderately powered engine was just a bonus.
You shouldn't assume that everyone else has the same priorities in life as you do.
I don't like your example of the airbags and other associated safety features as those are more insurance type items and if I KNEW for sure that I wouldn't use them, then I wouldn't buy them. Either way though, I see your point. Like I said, I didnt' mean to be harsh and he can drive however he wants. But I hold to the point that if you don't need the horsepower or handling abilities then there are a number of other cars that could suit other needs for less money.
And thats all I have to say about that.

Anyway, this debate is kinda pointless. I just wanted to point out that it's rather pretentious to call someone else's behavior stupid just because they don't follow the same reasoning that you do.
I'm done if you are.
Hey Oknes I did redline her and VTEC 3 times today just for you
I still get that AMAZING VTEC kick and reving to 9k then shifting wow.....Engine was still def strong and clutch didn't slip at high RPMS
I didn't buy the car to race or redline or drive agrresively. I came from a 450hp Twin turbo and that was its main purpose.
The s2k was the perfect car for me. Sure I don't use VTEC or redline to 9k often but its nice to have those features in case you need it sometime. I love the styling of the s2k which not many cars look better than my s2k. Espicially with the Amuse
The fact that its a convertible was another reason I loved it. Interior is so simple but looks so good!
A perfect drive for me is top down, cruising around 3500rpm and tunes up
Just an awesome cruiser car.
I am trying to drive a lil higher rpms though keeping at 3200-4k most of the time which helps me not lug to often. I don't put it in 5th anymore when just on regular city roads. Its still just a lil tough to get used to when you came from a 450hp monster and could start the car out in 3rd!
