Battery?
A plain old Crappy Tire or Sears Diehard or an EverReady from WalMart will work more than adequately. The "best" has been considered to be the Optima. However, these have been known to be defective and crap out early. It's a lot of money. You can buy almost 3 Crappy Tire batteries for the price of one of these.
I just noticed that under your avatar, it says you have a MY2000. If this is correct and this is the very first battery replacement for your car, this is most remarkable. Most stock batteries last about 3 years (give or take a year). It seems to me that you've had great success with the stock Panasonic battery. It obviously works the "best" for you. You might consider just replacing it with the same from your dealer. Stick with what works for you.

Odd thing is, it actually still works fine after a jump and my wife driving it daily.
I knew it was slowly going bad as for the past 6 months it has turned the starter over very slowly -- but then I let it sit for up to 2 weeks at a time.
The Walmart replacement cost me 42 bucks -- and it still sits in the LR3 unused -- my cheap ass is thinking about taking it back if the original holds out another week -- screw it just make the wife drive it everyday instead of her usual vehicle. I have a battery tender too...
FWIW the 3 year rule was proven true on both of my BMW's -- but I have owned 2 Toyotas and a LandRover that went well beyond that.

I've got an Optima Yellow top. Looks great in my Spa. As for the pirce...it was free. No, I didn't steal it. A customer traded a Civic in on a Mustang I had for sale. The Civic had the new Optima so I swapped it with the battery in my car.
