just looked on braille's site....$175 for the 11.5lb battery.
I picked up an Odyssey PC680 for 72 shipped and it cranked my car over when it was below 20 with no problem. I also let the car sit for 4-5 days sometimes. The PC680 only has 220CCA.
interesting. my 87 bmw lasted 7 years and i sold the car with the original in it. the newest cars i have the battery has lasted about 3 - 4 years on average. my son's 98 bmw has the factory original battery in it till jan of this year, go figure?

So can I get away with a smaller battery if I'm running a system off it? Nothing crazy, but 200watts to components and another 400-500 RMS for sub?
It's interesting to see fellow S. F. Bay Area residents posts on their outstanding battery longevity. We must have the perfect climate for lead acid battery life--not too cold, not too hot.
(Or else our unique stop-and-go traffic patterns provide matched and staggered charge sequences which, when combined with expensive fuel and high taxes, significantly extend battery life...)
Mine has been kicking since October 99. Six and a half years for that crappy little OEM battery. I notice it weakens if I park it for a couple weeks. I always attributed that to minor drain from the security system, stereo, door lights, etc.
Keeping it on a trickle charger while in the garage solves that problem. I know the time is coming soon to get a replacement, but it still works.
I would get a new one in a heartbeat if I could get one like the original.
