Personally I dont care...but would give my buddies shit if they let their car go for months without washing it/ didnt take care of it-

track cars are the exception to the rule

Well im not talking about the rich guys that have lambos or track cars.

I saved for my s2000 for a while and I love her. So im talking to those people. If I was rich then id beat up my s2000 to. But to me my s2000 is my lambo for what I make an hour.

And to keep it clean is an honor. Just like if I seen a rich guy with a lambo that was dirty as all hell and scratches and dirty rims. I would think hes an idiot.

Like whats the point in having a nice car when all your gonna do is beat it up ? Thats what honda civics are for.

can't believe this thread...

my car is almost always dirty looking, mostly because its *black*. It could go 3 days without a wash and look dirty as shit. Its my DD... i don't have a garage... if its under a tree, it'll have tree crap on it. the streets in my area suck hard, so my rims are *always* going to be scratched and dinged up, no matter what i do.

with that said, the car never goes more than 2 weeks without being washed, usually every week.

/begin rant

on to the other crap people are saying... way off topic... don't judge people on how clean their car is, or how clean any of their possessions are.. if they bought it, they can treat it like they want to. just my 2cents. if you're over at my place and its a mess, i'll apologize. i do make a serious effort to take care of all my possessions.. but seriously if you're some dude walking past my car and you want to go 'oh god, how COULD that person abuse their car that way?!?' .. you need a life. my car gets me from point A to point B with a big smile on my face, thats what i bought it for. I did not buy it to impress people in the parking lot.

/end rant

People forget this is a $30k car. Not some insane exotic. Drive your car and STFU.

Haha, sorry, didn't mean to offend. By "not taking care of your car", I mean when it's REALLY bad. A black car dirty from a couple weeks of not washing it doesn't mean you have crappy character and personal hygeine.

I'm talking about when the car hasn't been washed for YEARS, it's full of rust, dents, bird crap, copious amounts of mud, etc. And with that said, there's very few people out on the road that fall into this category.

Similarly, I understand if you didn't take a shower for 2 days because you were very busy with work/school/etc. But for 2 weeks, that's another story. That, in my mind, would say something about your character.

My Dad's friend's a doctor, so he leases all his cars - there's zero incentive for him to keep it clean, etc. He says he's never washed his cars once -- at least not hand washing.
