i would personaly NEVER buy anything from vivid...and i DEFINETLY wouldn't spend 5k on just a supercharger set up...

5k, i'd call up inline pro. you could easily make a good 400whp, but your gonna need some type of engine management and fuel upgrades.

You cant make 400whp with only $5000. Its more like $8000 with new parts.

i had and installed the vortech on my personal car and never had an issue, actually like the system and would go back to another one. but thats saying a local blow up his motor with the comptech, but he drove 6 hours bashing all the way, hard to really test which product is better than another when each owner treats and takes care of their cars differently, especially if something wasn't installed right

5k for a used kit seems a bit steep, maybe it comes with more parts you didnt mention?

lots of good info here.

Sorry guys, the 5 grand is including comptech piggyback and all install charges. kit itself is 3800 which seems about market value, no?

Again, there isn't any raw data that shows that Vortech is less reliable - silver you are going off of local word of mouth.

Would I TAKE a CT blower? Yes, if I found one for the same price as a used VT. I never understood why the kit was more expensive though, and I never understood why everyone is COMPTECH CRAZY OH MY GOD COMPTECH.

The kit makes less power, and it's more expensive. I guess it looks nicer, and you don't have to tap the oil pan which takes all of a few hours.

But let's not turn this into another VT vs. CT bashing thread, let's turn this into a turbo bashes supercharger thread

Assuming you did the install yourself, your looking at ~5500 dollars not 8000.

You can't include a clutch in there either, since turbo or SCed, your going to need one anyway.

Local experiance. Seen/read issues with Vortech.

Comptech after talking to local owners were which is what I went forward with and no issues.

Still doesn't make power As Vortech and lets not turn this into another Comptech vs Vortech as comptech is history.
