before I drop 5 grand...
I have a Comptech SC and exhaust and no upgraded pulley and the car "feels" great. I bought it with the car and I forget that the SC is on the car. It's plug and play. I say go for it.

with a comptech blower kit, they estimate 300whp. Lets just say that is accurate and I dyno EXACTLY 300whp, with no other mods whatsoever, what kind of 1/4 mile runs should I put up?
I do things differently than most of the guys here, so my power measurements are too conservative to post, but I went with the Comptech, and based on my results I doubt very seriously that you'll get 300 WHP unless you have a dyno operator who likes to give people impressive numbers. I also measure quarter mile times differently than others here, but my times aren't far off what everyone else gets. I'm not much of a drag racer so I don't get the most out of the car, but stock I could run low 14's and now I'm running low 13's (I also have 4.30:1 gears and a more positive LSD). A better driver and some work with the tire pressures and I'm pretty sure the car could break into the (very) high 12's. If you get the Comptech and do that on stock boost you're a better drag racer than I'll ever be.

I don't know if I'd buy a Comptech system at this point in time or not, since they're out of business. There is nothing on my system that I can't replace from other sources (including the mounting plate), but I'd rather have product support that we no longer have with the CTSC. The VTSC is a nice kit, and if you don't like the details you can always change them. I changed out all the hoses for my aftercooler becasue I wasn't satisfied with the ones that came with the kit. If it were me, I'd go Vortech unless I was getting a super price on a CTSC.
My car is a MY00 factory comptech installed with AC. And my dyno numbers are 298hp that is on comptechs dyno.
I would say 300 hp at the wheels is what you should make on a comtech sc with after cooler. Not sure why nobody else seems to agree.
You will need to up grade your pressure plate and maybe your clutch.

I could guess why their dyno reads a little high, but I don't want to go down that path.
FWIW guys, I have a stock CTSC/AC and I *can* make 300 WHP pulls, but I don't, because I know the car isn't really making that much power. I've seen GTR's with dyno sheets showing that they were making 1000 WHP, when the engines they had couldn't possibly be flowing enough air to make more than half that. Properly corrected dyno numbers should be comparable, but even the best operators come up with different numbers when they use a different type of dyno. Dyno calibration is also an issue.
When I plot the power and torque of my car (with the CTSC/AC) both the torque and the power curve look EXACTLY like the curves Comptech has published for the system installed on an F20C, but their numbers are higher. Pretty much everyone else seems to get similar results, and as far as I know nobody has done any kind of averaging or statistical analysis.
If the car has an MY00-01 ECU it isn't going to make 300 WHP when measured on most dynos, but that doesn't make it any slower.
