Marlins, you should come hang out with us in the New England forum. We're a wily bunch.
I am sorry about that. It's not fair that you don't have a local forum of your own to socialize in. That makes this whole subject doubly important to Idahoans.

Ahhhh...ya know, you have a built in ignore mechanism for which you alone are responsible.
Meet the Brain.
If someone says something you don't agree with, ignore him. Not with a special combination of application flags and filters...but with your brain. So much easier. Absolutely zero overhead. No high maintenance. Easy. Why make it hard?
Banning has its place, but it more for threats or other types of extreme behaviour.
Reality check in order. It is just a forum. Take what you can from the stuff you like, ignore the rest.
If you see something you don't like, don't read it. Skip it. Scroll button on mouse be your personal friend and come to your birthday party. You may not like something, but maybe it offers a bit of levity for some others that are having a bit of fun. Nobody forces you to 'endure' or read anything. It's all you.
Take personal resposiblity and accountability, bad habit to rely on (and in some cases whine consistently to others).

My point is that there's a tremendous waste of bandwidth on every forum, not just S2KI. Bandwidth is cheap; my time, while not valuable to most other people, does have some little value to me.
If I can have some help filtering out the "what's in the back pack, and get this, she says 'none of your f**k'n business'." posts, I get back a little of my time. A little time here, a little time there, it can add up.

Now, for the "my time is worth more than your time" point, I gotta say it sounds a bit bogus.
You have found plenty of time to do things you personally want to do...like construct, type, review and post a complaint about how little time you have.
But that's just my take.
Life is about choice, and there is a big wonderful world out there (believe it or not) with opportunites for you to find whatever suits your fancy. Complaining about the rest of the folks not meeting your personal needs ain't gonna fix your problem.

Insults are a part of forums, you should know that by now. I love s2ki, but ive become more a dick on forums because you have to be to put up with all of the other ones.
Like Chazmo says, this saddens me.

I agree. Anyone can afford membership. It's usually not the older members scaring away new members. It's retarded noobs scaring away the new members and discouragin the older members IMO.
Chaz - I just want to point out that you're doing a crappy job when you should be monitoring every thread every minute of the day and banning people.
BTW, Who do I have to have sex with around here to get to be a Moderator?

i think you guys are over reacting. ignore buttons and such are completely unneccesary. i agree with just using the wheelie on ur mouse and scroll down if someones post does not interest you. takes half a sec to realize if something u are reading is crap. if anything needs to attention its the search function...
