What really sucks is if you bend multiple rims at the same time. A lot of times you don't even know you bent them until you have a slow leak in your tires. Other times the steering wheel shakes a lot. After that, all I'll get are forged or semi-forged wheels. Cast wheels are just to prone to damage.

Hey!!!
What are you trying to say?
I bent a rim once driving in Miami.
I was going about 50mph, following some cars, going up an overpass. All of a sudden, the road surface changed (they repaved a section of the overpass) and the change from one to the other was about an inch. It was a 90 degree change.
Two options: Slam on my brakes and have one of the wondeful Miami drivers nail me in the rear, or slow down the best I can and try to make the transition as smooth as possible. I chose the second option and the result was a bent lip on my wheel.
Not my fault these morons can't do their job right.
I just end up paying for it.
And i am careful as hell. Going over railroad tracks at like 2mph (holding up traffic), taking speed bumps(or avoiding all together) almost standing still. But there are times when there is nothing you can do.
With stock rims and tires, you don't have to worry. With a rubber band for a tire, you do.

hahahahaha....
RT - don't i wish i had some freaking center caps to knock on.!
pnty man - if the same person bends wheels constantly...i would think the person is the problem...sure accidents happen (once or twice)...but.....well...you get it...right.
Rick - Ask Eliot about the truck driver who sped up to see Russel with his shirt off.
o ya..those expansion joints on the bridge dont even make my car bounce (have hit 150+ at least 10 times on that bridge)

Just to clarify, the wheels I bent were over a period of 8 years. I don't bend wheels every week. Actually, I'm a pretty conservative driver. It's just those damn potholes. Having said that, I have bent the prior 3 sets that I've owned. As of this point in time, I have not yet bent my TE37's. I'm hoping since it's a forged wheel, it will be more dent resistant.
Well I made the trip out to the Dragon this afternoon and located the pothole in question. To clarify things a bit, pothole is a bit tame for this thing it's more like a crater!

Hope this helps!

Scot: Cool!!! When I passed over the bridge on the way home I thought it was the perfect place to rev to red...but you have to be the master of traffic....which you are!!!!
