Default Best Cold Air Intake?

Who makes the best CAI for our car? I have a MY05 and am looking for a quick gain. Is it easy to install? Does it change the sound that comes from the engine? Any info will be appreciated.

1. Debatable
2. Most people are able to do it themselves.
3. Yes

Side note.... most intakes wont give you much bang for your buck but if your looking for more or less around 5whp then go for it.

The best intake IMO for the price is an AEM v2.. its about 240 bucks for a new one... The sound it makes is absolutely crazy and I can say for sure you see some small gains... but the sound will be well worth the money

Your title states "inexpensive" and "best" and in most things, they are not usually in the same product. If you want a good intake that is cheap, go for an "AEM" copy on ebay with a K&N filter and silicone tubing. They'll be the similar in performance and sound to an AEM, for a fraction of the price.

A drop-in filter in the stock intake is a start, then add a Spoon-style snorkel. The snorkel design is well respected on this site and there's some good copies of Spoon on the web.

There is no such thing as "inexpensive gains"in the "S"vocabulary !!!
Speed cost money;how fast do you want to go?

I had a AEM V2...It sounded great and is a solid piece, but there is a major problem with hydrolock....After one scare I pulled it and switched to Comptech....

Don't buy a cheap intake, or even an expensive one if you live in an area that has very heavy rains.

In advance of flaming. Not one single person who says hydrolocking is not an issue has hydrolocked their cars. Visit the S. Florida forums and read some threads by people who have. No way 2 HP is worth the risk IMO.
