No intake will give you impressive gains.... no matter what you go with, you're looking at 4hp...MAX. There is some increase in throttle response and a better sound, that's about it. Now, with that said, are 4rwhp worth the risk of hydrolocking your engine?
If you want the best gain for the money, save your pennies and get 4.77 gears. For the same price as an exhaust, intake, header or VAFC you can get gears and have them installed; much better results and less hassle.

I think Comptech Icebox is the best as far as money and performance wise. Mugen and J are way too expensive, 1000+. No worries about Comptech Icebox since no hydrolocks.

Can someone with Comptech back me up on this? I dont have comptech, but just speaking from experience. When I get my S2000, I will get Comptech. Bit pricey, but it's middle of mugen and AEM. AEM has hydrolock issue

How the hell do you notice 2-3hp gain? Its all in the head. Why buy the brand name when it's the same shit? I say buy the shit, then stick the name on...

from what i hear the K&N CAI (kinda shares the same design as the comptech icebox with slight differences) makes the most power. I believe a member here made a review thread and posted dyno plots before and after. If I recall correctly the gains were somewhere around 8hp which is fricken high for an intake on our car.
