Default Best Header For The Money?

I've heard the Amuse R1 has the best power gain, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much $$ (1,300?) for an exhaust manifold... I think Toda Racing, J's Racing, and Mugen are all in that ballpark... What about DC Sports header? Does anybody have that installed? What's the power gain and quality? Aren't they roughly $500? Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated! TIA!

i've heard that headers don't give power gains and if it does it'll be 1-2 hp at most. unless you put a charger in.

Bulletproofautomotive.com says the Mugen gives 10hp at 6500rpm with no max hp gain? And they said Amuse is even better? I don't know.

Oh, and sorry... Please move to S2000 Talk.

There are ZERO gains from any of the budget headers, and there are very minimal gains from the premium headers. They don't even provide much of a weight savings for the cost. I think headers and exhaust are among the lowest bang for the buck mods available (from a performance perspective) for the S2000.

I have the Mugen piece and have no experience with any other besides stock however, the midrange punch is solid. Very critical to have a strong midrange in autocross IMHO.

Kane - Do you have any more info on the Hytech? I'm not familiar with this one at all!

To the rest, thank you for your responses! Gears will be coming first!!!

everyone is correct, if you dont have a supercharger, dont waste your money on a header. I have a compteh supercharger but I put the comptech header on after and I felt a gain.
