i have used up all of my free oil change from honda, mostly likely i will be doing my own oil change next time. It currently has 9k miles, so i was wondering what's the best oil i can get for my baby

 

My advice since your close to 10,000 miles, go synthetic. Mobil One 10W-30 works good for me. There are a million different opinions on this and more than a few facts. Supposedly the Honda oil is just re-badged Mobil Drive Clean dino based motor oil. On the other car forum I frequent (SHO Taurus), they swear by Castrol dino juice.

Red-line, Royal Purple, and Amsoil are expensive synthetics that you generally have to get mail order. Although local speed shops usually carry Red-Line.

Also, use a quality oil filter every oil change. My recommendation based on researching this site and others, use a Mobil One or a K&N oil filter. Or try a HAMP oil filter, if you can find one. There's also a bunch of info out there on oil filters.

My advice do a search, and make your own choice.

I stand by Mobil 1, but I will have to wait till i go over 10k miles, then i will switch to Mobil1 10w30. I also use Mobil1 oil filters, nothing else.

I have used Mobil 1 for over 5 years now in my other car, and I have been very pleased with the results.
