Why not list it here on the forum? While I haven't sold a S2000, I did sell one of my motorcycles last year. In the case of my motorcycle I only listed it in one place - an online forum dedicated to that specific bike. That choice made the most sense to me as there was an attentive audience familiar with that particular model who knew what they were looking for. My motorcycle was in awesome condition when I listed it and I priced it at what I felt was the honest value. I quickly had serious interest from a couple of members with no haggling. (I also did not have to deal with a bunch of craigslist knuckleheads.) The new owner was a good guy who made the trip over from Idaho to buy my bike. This all took place right around this time of year which is the best time to sell a motorcycle (or in your case a roadster).

I’ve sold several cars and motorcycles on CL. Both expensive and inexpensive. Forums are terrible for vehicles. Often times sellers want way too much and buyers want to pay bottom dollar. All sites have scammers; it’s not just CL.

I understand the irony that plenty of people want to sell their stuff for the most they can get yet buy for as little as possible. But like I said, I listed for a fair price. I’m sure I could have gotten a bit more out of the bike but I did not feel like dicking around with haggling and was happy with the money I got in return. Those who were interested knew the price was fair. Like the S2000, finding clean, stock examples of the bike like the one I had (a Honda Hawk GT) is getting harder and harder with each passing year. I had owned it for eleven years and was really happy to see it go to someone else who appreciated it for what it was. Obviously your forum selling experiences have not been as positive. I am goiessing the forum itself (the members drawn to the forum) has an impact as well.

I wish rpg51 the best of luck whatever route he chooses to go. I also look forward to finally reading of his experiences with the Silverstone ‘03 that he has been saving all this time. Glad to know that he will get to enjoy it sooner rather than later.

Watch out for calls from scammers wanting to sell you a product like Carfax, only they take your money and don't give you crap.

Thanks for the input folks. I have it ready to go. I just need to take some pictures and then I'll get it listed for sale.

I've spoken with you briefly over PM and you seem like a stand up guy and a meticulous owner. I'm sure whoever gets your '02 will be extremely happy. And the bright side is that even though you are selling an s2000, you have another to take it's place! Good luck to you sir!

I've listed my old s2000's on just about every major outlet, except facebook/instagram which I do not have.

Although craigslist will get you the most response, be prepared for tire kickers and joy riders.

I prefer s2ki and eBay. Make sure to have plenty of detailed, high resolution pictures as these cars do attract out of state buyers as well as local. GLWS.

I’ve had the same thoughts. Here is hoping for a smooth transaction.
