i was parking at pizza hut to pick up food before the game i had the top down and was putting the radar detector in the "glovebox" and all i see is this guy in a crx and his girlfriend at the toco bell window(the two places are right next to eachother) and i see him hit his girl on the shoulder pointing at my car like he had seen a ghost and started waving his hands with this big ass grin on his face and shaking his head up and down if he were trying to say yes but the words wouldnt come out, so i waved and threw a smile in his direction then went to get my pizza. when i left you have to make this annoying u turn so blah blah then i ended up on the other side of the road and he was at the opposit light.....he starts waving his hands again and shaking his head! i was about to offer him a ride he was in such awwww. so i waved honked the horn then made my turn......all i have to say is that it definatly put a smile on my face and i will never forget the look on that kids face.....it was hilarious!

I was inside a Subway, when an older couple parked next to me in a PT Cruiser...they both walked around the car and checked it out, then walked inside and said, "Trade you the PT for your car." I got a good chuckle out of that one.
I pulled up to the stop light with my wife in the car. In the right lane a very cute girl was driving a Plymouth something, she was eyeing out the front end of my car. I kept watching her, then she turned to me and gave me a smile that made me feel like melted butter. Luckily, my wife didn't see this, but man that felt good

Here's mine.....
Driving out of the Honda dealer the very first day I drove the car, a family of 4 stopped & made vocal remarks. But, the best was the next guy up the street. As he turned to watch me go by, I saw (in the side mirror) that he walked into a telephone pole! Ouch!! And, the remarks & stumbling have continued to this day, some 9 months later. Love it!

I was driving on the I-10 from Palm Springs, CA back into LA going with the flow of traffic when a 996 Carrera 4 comes up behind me. Then he switches to the slow lane, gives me a thumbs up, and takes off. So I follow. We're weaving through light traffic at about 105mph and eventually hit bumper to bumper traffic. He pulls up next to me:
996 Driver: That's a really nice car. How do you like it?
InsaniT: Uh, _you_ have a nice car. It's an amazing car, though.
996 Driver: (smiles) Thanks. Looks like it's game over.
InsaniT: Guess so.
We both went about navigating the traffic and give each other a wave and thumbs up before going about our business. That was awesome... I had a huge smile on my face after that.

A few instances:
On the interstate, got behind a bus full of elementary age kids waving at me, giving the thumbs up....reminded me of when I was their age
Lady at a stoplight right after I bought my car, told me how beautiful the car was and to have fun with it
Just the other day, a guy who pulled up next to me at a light said "It looks better than a Porsche!"

Well, I don't know if this counts but I was cruisin down the interstate with the top down when I hear a honk and my buddy points to a neon on the access road with a bunch of girls waving at us. I was doing about 85 and they were keeping up with me. So I decide to pull of the freeway to say hello when I see the red and blue lights pulling them over on the access road.....oops!!!

I got my car in September of '99, a few days after it was released in the US. A few days later, I attended the Bosch Sports Car Oktoberfest races at Watkins Glen, which is just a few miles from my house.
These races don't draw huge attendance, and most people there are real enthusiasts. Everyone typically wanders around the track facility, getting different points of view during the race.
When I first pulled in, I parked next to a grandstand, with the nose facing the access road. All of a sudden, people started coming down from the grandstand to have a look. People driving by stopped too. There must have been twenty people gathered around to look and ask questions. Lots of pictures were taken, including people posing with the car. I felt like a celebrity!
This went on all day long, and I don't remember much of the races. I was too busy watching the car and people's reaction to it. I've been back to Watkins Glen several times since then and I always get attention, though not nearly as much as the first time.

while in Houston during the Christmas shopping season - I was pulling out of a Best Buy parking lot onto Richmond, near 610, a man carrying his baby, and his wife pushing the stroller were crossing the street - and the guy says to me, "it would be a pleasure to be hit by your car." His wife groaned, but I smiled in return of the compliment.
Sorry for my earlier post with the "heavy print"! The only way I could post was to use a quote that was on someone else's post. POST REPLY only pops up every once in awhile so tht I can do exactly that. I've asked the admin about this, but haven't had any positive replies.
All I know is that I can rarely ever post anything concerning a post that is already up on the board. Weird!
