Best "Toy" Purchase for S2000
Invest in good fluids for your maintenance needs. Quality oil, transmission fluid, differential fluid, brake pads, a quality floor jack and jack stands. Tools to work on the S. Or like it's been said, stash that cash in your 401K or IRA. You can never start too early for that retirement fund.
"Play-Dough". That's what that kind of money is called.
The best way to avoid a ticket, is to not speed. I've never gotten a speeding ticket since I've owned the S, (4 years) but I've been pulled over many many times. It's how you talk to the police, and more importantly what you say.
I would save up for some decent tires, you'd be surprised on how much higher the ceiling is raised when you invest in a good set of rubbers. Take some time to Auto-Cross as well, you'll become much more comfortable with the car and it's limits.

plasti-dip s2000's are not my fancy, I would dread the day when one has to remove it from the vehicle surface.
I agree with the OP's consideration of an audio upgrade, this car definitely needs a better audio system, whatever head unit you go with get the Modifry DCI and use it with the speed variable volume option which is a great setup for this car given the road noise at higher speeds.
Best 2 Mods are free = advice
1. Invest in the best performance tires you can afford for this car, you will be surprised how well the car performs with decent tires. Don't let any tires wear down too low or you can kiss your investment good-bye in the rain.
2. Check your oil levels at each fuel fill stop, and always use the lowest reading of the 2 sides of the dipstick as the accurate level. Low oil is the number one killer of our engines.
Enjoy the ride.
