I used Uhaul flat-bed trailer on 99 Accord with 18" wheels and have no problem at all.

flatbed or covered trailer......

I used a service out in Virginia back in '03 to ship a 4Runner from VA to CA. Got it there in about a week!

but can they go on a Uhaul? Penske says that anything with 17" wheels won't fit on the tiedown straps for the wheels and therefor can't be used with their flatbed trailer that tow's behind the truck.

Any experiance?
I've personally seen (many times) an S2000 with 18 inch rims on the back of a Penske car trailer.

I towed my S2K on a Uhaul last month no problems at all. The only thing that may get in the way are the wheel stops at the very end of the trailer hitting the bumper if your lowered. I simply unbolted these.

Take off the parts and ship them individually

If your car is 'Flawless' (no chin rash, etc.), and you want to keep it that way, you should check out a company called: www.intercitylines.com . These guys use a hydraulic flat lift and enclosed trailer setup that places your car in the greatest possible care. It's level-on and level off in covered transport. They ship cars for 'Jay Leno'....'Barrett-Jackson Auctions'....and many other prized collectors. They offer door-to-door service. Most other shippers use an angled ramp system that not only can put strain on the drivetrain driving up the ramp, but also can scrape the front end of the low profile S2000. Each to their own.....but if I was getting a perfect car, I would opt to pay a little extra for pure professionalism in keeping it that way in loading and/or transit. ....my .02 worth.
sounds like the way to go.. only the best

Coast to Coast..... I was getting bids to ship a S2000 from NY to Washington State. It was approx $1300 open carrier......and I had a bid for $1900 from the previously mentioned www.intercitylines.com (covered & state-of-the-art). Depends how many $$$ you want to pay to be able to sleep peacefully. You know the old saying..."You Get What You Pay For"??????
