I started my s2k this morning it was about 65 degrees and I get out of my car while it warms up and I see light black smoke out of the exhaust and it disappears after a few seconds I was wondering if anyone experienced this? is it just carbon build up?

 

Its probably just running rich for a few minutes until it warms up. No biggie, and it sounds pretty normal.

 

Normal......that's what leaves that black soot we all have to polish of when we clean the tips........

Check your oil level anyway....

 

Are you running synthetic oil? Seems like the guys that run synthetic get a little more black soot than the guys that are running regular dino oil.

 

checked my oil, its fine but I have to service it soon and I do use synthetic oil.

 

Just a thought...but a bad oxygen sensor can allow extra carbon-burn too... Typically if the oxy-sensor goes bad the Check Engine idiot light will display on most Hondas.
