Default Oil is going black really fast, how do I fix this?

Hey all.

I have a new F20C in my s2000 with only 26,000 k's on it now.

However, I am having to service it every 3000-4000 k's. It stays golden for about 3000 k's then starts going black all of a sudden, there is no gradual transition.

I don't thrash the car and I usually give it a stretch through second and third once or twice a day, usually only revving it a little past 8000RPM and I will give it a few stretches in second up to 7500.

This can't be normal. How do I fix it? Will getting the car tuned do anything for it?

I only have exhaust and intake mods.

Thanks.

The color of the oil has nothing to do with the condition (unless its chocolate milk, then you have coolant mixing in). Engine oil turning black means nothing and you shouldn't base its condition on that. If you are worried about the quality of your oil and the protection it is providing, have an analysis done.

It's probably just at that point where you can see it enough on the dipstick to be dark. Also make sure your air filter is working well

Nah when it's fresh it's gold on the dip stick.

Then it goes black.

Exactly.

Black oil is doing its job.

If you don't like your engine oil to turn dark, then try a different oil. Some are less capable of holding carbon and dirt in suspension until you change your oil. That way you can keep all that garbage in your engine until it is sludged and then you can clean it out manually.

You don't. There's nothing to "fix" except the operator. Use UOA's, not color (as stated above) to analyze your oil.

I was always told oil turning black meant it was doing its job.

You could try one of the engine flush products.I favor the ones that uses detergent NOT solvents.
