A little moderation...

The thread started because someone genuinely wanted to know why more S2000's weren't sold. Some folks took misinformed stabs, others accurately stated that it was because Honda limited the availability. Some folks, however, were definitely dismissive of the S2000, its abilities, and its owners.

My point is...if you generalize and say all Boxster/Porsche owners are annoying/misinformed/rude/snobs, then you are generalizing just as broadly and your opinions should be just as summarily dismissed.

We should judge individual actions, not the whole crowd by association. Complain about the specific posters, but don't blame the whole board for the actions of a few.

I realise it isn't as easy to vent frustration against a faceless individual when you can just despise the whole lot, but doing so only puts you in the same class as the ones being despised.

Ooops, meant to post this under the "Misguided Boxster Onwers" thread. My bad.

Hey, I read the thread that you were referring to. Glad someone on the other side decide to reconcile and make ammends. I do agree with some of what they say and it is also obvious that some of them are stating something that they have no idea of. It is unfortunate these type of characters exist but there is nothing we can do about them.

I as an S2000 owner am glad that you made this move.

We could start a new bulletin board for all the "rejects" from our boards. Then they could sit around and flame each other all day to their hearts content.

Oh wait, newsgroups already exist.

This is worse then the investment boards where the pump and dump crowd hang out. People who can';t afford a 911 buy a Boxster. End of Story. People who study high performance cars buy an S2000. It's just that simple. When I go to my stepdad's he drives my S2K caus "it's fun to drive". He's 75....I don't complain when I get to take his Anthracite Diablo 6.0 around the block (I say it's more fun to drive...but he's 75..). Oh the family Porsche....sold it to but "real sports cars"....gonna argue with a 75 year old man with a Diablo......ROFLOL?
