I cant believe how many people run their cars out of oil. It truely amazes me. I have a friend that has already done this twice in the 4 years i have known him

Yea, you most likely spun a bearing which probably ripped a hole in the crankshaft. Exact same thing happened to my friend. And if that is the case, your best option is to just replace the engine.

...go w/a used engine btw.

double cluthing is good, you put less stress on the synchros .. esp if you're skipping gears ( 2-4 for example..)

10500 for a new engine? Sounds a little high...Majestic has it for less than 5K, brand new. Or am I reading this wrong?

When you run your car low on oil the rod bearings that connect to the crankshaft arent getting any lubrication or getting cooled down by the oil so they end up failing and you end up with a blown engine block. You should be checking your oil at every fill up.
